About Sloan

I’m a therapist with a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Social Work Candidate (SWC) in Colorado, currently earning hours toward my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) under supervision (anticipated October).

I specialize in supporting youth and young adults, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as neurodivergent and “neurospicy” individuals. Much of my work focuses on transition-age youth (18–21) as they build independence and navigate life after high school, including developing life skills, communication, and confidence in daily living

My approach is person-centered, meaning I use techniques from various psychological disciplines to tailor my work to fit each client's needs. I also utilize:

    - Trauma-informed care

    - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    -Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

    -Narrative Therapy

    -Play therapy

Therapeutic Approach

My approach is strengths-based, empathetic, warm, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported as they work through anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

I also enjoy working with a wide range of youth and young adults, including those experiencing crisis, school challenges, or significant stress. Whether we’re building coping skills, improving executive functioning, or navigating big life changes, I focus on practical, individualized support that meets each person where they are.

Education/ Licensure

After graduating from Emory University with a degree in psychology, I began my mental health career working in perinatal research at Columbia University Medical Center, then behavioral health at Children's Hospital Colorado. These experiences inspired me to broaden my scope of practice and complete my Master's of Social Work at the University of Denver. During and after graduate school, I found myself working in high schools and transition programs with students with disabilties. I am licensed in the state of Colorado, which means I can only work with clients who are physically located within the state.

My license number is SWC.0000002713
